On November 28, 2007 CVRD changed its name to Vale and our nickel company has become Vale Inco. Vale is pronounced (vah-lay) and literally means “valley”. As a mining company, ‘Vale’ reminds us of our dependence on the earth’s riches and our important role as stewards of the environment. Vale Inco’s mission is to be the world’s leading nickel company -- setting standards of excellence in mining, processing and marketing products that meet society’s needs and contribute to improved quality of life.
